JCRFD #1 Receives Rotary Funds
Jay Olson, Chief of Jefferson County Fire District #1, receives $6,000 check from Rotarian Dick Anderson (standing in for president Melinda Boyle.) The funds were raised at the annual Cherry Tree Celebration, dinner-dance-auction, held at Kah Nee Ta, and will aid the department in purchasing additional new rescue tools to aid in rescue extrication.
JC Library 2nd Recipient
Sally Beesley, Rotarian and Jefferson County Librarian, receives a total of $2,000 from the Cherry Tree event, for new computers for the library, and an additional $750 in funding for the library's ongoing Community Read project.
Viscaino Talks Kids' Club
Kids' Club Director, Kristin Viscaino, talks about the Kids' Club, which provides a safe-haven for between 50 to 120 school-age children, before and after-school - featuring opportunities for study help, entertainment, games and providing snacks and a meal.
Congratulations to Meredith Junge, Brenda Davis and Carol Leone, for heading up a successful Cherry Tree funding event - they, with the help of the club, and the participating recipient organizations, accomplished an awful lot, in a very brief amount of time, raising sufficient funds to meet the recipients' requests, and providing an enjoyable evening, in the process.
Any time you sincerely want to make a change, the first thing you must do is to raise your standards. When people ask me what really changed my life eight years ago, I tell them that absolutely the most important thing was changing what I demanded of myself. I wrote down all the things I would no longer accept in my life, all the things I would no longer tolerate, and all the things that I aspired to becoming.
